Our mission is to promote the education and general welfare of working people in Southern California, and to conduct educational and cultural activities, which advance the well being of workers and their families.

Our Business

The Los Angeles Workers' Educational Society continues a long tradition of workers struggles for a better life in America. The original organization , the American-Hungarian Cultural Society was founded by immigrants from Hungary who called the Los Angeles Workers' Center The Hungarian Workman's Home. Several struggles for workers' rights called this site home over the years, including the Committee for the Protection of the Foreign Born, the Committee for the Defense of the Bill of Rights, the Frente Democratico Revolucionario (El Salvador) , the Los Angeles Council of Unemployed and Homeless, and Trade Unionists for Action and Democracy (TUAD), to name a few. We have a proud history of involvement in working class struggles.

Los Angeles Workers Sociedad Educacional continua con su larga tradicion de lucha con los trabajadores por una mejor vida en America.La original organizacion, La Sociedad Cultural Hungara-Americana fue fundada por inmigrantes de Hungria que la llamo Los Angeles Worker Center-El Hogar de Trabajadores de Hungria.Fuertes luchas por los derechos de los trabajadores llamo a este sitio su hogar por muchos anos incluyendo El Comite de Proteccion del extranjero nacido Americano,El Comite de Defensa de los Derechos Salariales,El Frente Democratico Revolucionario (El Salvador) El Consejo de Los Angeles del Deseempleado y Desamparado y El Convenio de Las Uniones por Accion y Democracia,por nombrar algunas.Nosotros tenemos una historia llena de orgullo en nuestro compromiso con la clase trabajadora.
